Short but sweet, your words of wisdom are! A beneficent poster to help those led astray you obviously seem to be! |
Re: A twist tie makes an ak47 full auto?
it would lead to a 'follow forward' firing....
unreliable at best. plus there's the long jail sentance.... |

Re: A twist tie makes an ak47 full auto?
The hammer will follow the bolt forward and result in a light primer strike, from what I've gathered.

Re: A twist tie makes an ak47 full auto?
I think a shoestring might work better than this idea. You know what I mean.

Re: A twist tie makes an ak47 full auto?
I'm calling the twist tie is bullshit. The hammer would fall at the same time the bolt carrier returns.
The bolt carrier must be fully returned before the hammer is released. |
Re: A twist tie makes an ak47 full auto?
that's why they stipulate that it must be used with soft primered ammunition. with the hard primered stuff, it wouldn't work.
it likely isn't very reliable... |
Re: A twist tie makes an ak47 full auto?
I can make any AR skip fire with a paper clip, AK's not so easy to get the hammer to stay back for that split second.

Re: A twist tie makes an ak47 full auto?
I was just curious from the mechanic viewpoint. I am not going to do that. If I really want to try full auto I would experiment bump fire with my ar-15, although the ammo is too expensive to do that.

Re: A twist tie makes an ak47 full auto?
Bump firing is not a valid technique if you're holding the gun in a proper stance.
